Spider Crafts

I am not a spider person. If one creeps its way into my house, it’s dead.

But these simple spider crafts are simply too cute to pass up!

Some fun times to make these preschool spider crafts:

  • A fun way to teach kids about arachnids and bugs.
  • Kids will learn to count when making their 8 spider legs.
  • Tie them into fun songs or nursery rhymes, like The Itsy Bitsy Spider or Little Miss Muffet.
  • Have a crafting station at your next Halloween party.
  • Or you can simply create them at your kitchen table.

Hang your finished spiders in windows, on doors, in your playrooms, on bulletin boards, or around your craft centers. They make a super fun Halloween decoration.

You see more spider activities during fall and Halloween season, but really they can be created any time of the year.

You can include some bug crafts when explaining the difference between arachnids and insects.

You can mix and match your fabric however you want to create this fun fabric pumpkin. To create our larger pumpkin we went with 2 fun teal patterns and smaller solid teal squares. This teal fabric pumpkin craft is the perfect addition to our teal pumpkin ideas. A Halloween craft that's perfect for kids and adults!

Start by applying a coat of Modge Podge to your pumpkin. Add one of your fabric squares and then cover with more Modge Podge. Use vertical strokes to get out any air bubbles and to remove any excess Modge Podge. This teal fabric pumpkin craft is the perfect addition to our teal pumpkin ideas. Since we will be layering our circles it doesn’t hurt the end result if a few aren’t perfect.

  • White Pumpkin. As you can see I have one large one and 2 smaller pumpkins. They all had completely different textures and all worked great!
  • Teal Acrylic Paint.
  • Foam Brush.
  • Cheap Cloth. Paper towels can work too.
  • Little Dish of Water.
