Tips for making this gift for dad:

• Gather up rocks together outdoors and make it an adventure! There’s always room for more fun!
• Wash off the rocks and let them dry completely before adding to the frame.
• Be nearby to help with any issues that they might have when gluing on the pieces.
• Get colorful by letting your kids paint the rocks before gluing them.

This Father's Day Rock Frame is so simple and cute!

Difficulty Easy

Materials

• 8 popsicle sticks
• Rocks
• Glue
• Printable

Instructions

1. Build the frame by attaching two popsicle sticks to each side and two popsicle sticks to the top and bottom. Glue the corners to secure the sticks in place.
2. When the glue on the frame is dry, glue rocks all around the frame.
3. Print the printable insert on heavy cardstock. Cut it out around the outer border and glue it to the back of the frame.

Step by step instructions to create your Father’s Day Book

We saw an adorable Letter A book online and realized these fun 8-page flip books could be used for just about anything! Including this fun booklet for Dad.

This card for dads is great because there is no glue or tape needed. Just print, fold, and pass off to your kiddo! There are plenty of spaces and hearts for your little one to create and color. For my daughter, I asked her the statements as questions and filled in her answers.

Then she drew a picture to go along. An older child could just write in their answers on their own.

If they are just learning their letters, write the word DAD on a piece of paper and let them try to add it to the cover! I think we have read through the book at least 20 times. She can’t wait to give it to her dad… I have a feeling it will be before Father’s Day. I don’t blame her because I know he will love it!

I have done mosaics with dry beans before, but I wanted to mix it up a little. V has been into painting a lot lately so I knew she would be up for the challenge.

This is a great craft to make in June for Father’s day.

What you need for your Dry Bean Mosaic:

• Dry white beans. We chose 2 different sizes to give some good variation.
• Kids paints.
• Paintbrush.
• Contact paper.
• A canvas or thick posterboard.
• White glue.

Making your Dry Bean Mosaic:

Start by peeling back a large piece of contact paper and fasten it to your table sticky side up.

Dump your dry beans on the paper and spread them out. V really enjoyed doing this. Once they are only one bean deep press down with hands.

Then start painting! A few of them got loose, but for the most part, the contact paper really helped keep them down. She really enjoyed painting over the bumpy texture. Let them dry before removing them from the contact paper.

Using your white glue start by drawing out your design. Have your little one place the beans one at a time along the glue. V loved squeezing out all of the glue and spreading it around. Picking up and placing the beans was a great fine motor activity and really held her attention. We did take one break after finishing the letters and border. I wanted to give them a moment to set before filling everything in.

Then start placing the beans in the negative space. Mix the sizes up to try to cover as much as possible. We painted Red, Blue, and Yellow beans, but decided to use Red, Blue, and White instead. I am glad we did. It really helped contrast the letters from the background.

Once we got it outside for some good pictures they almost looked like little stones!

She was very proud of her dry bean mosaic… so proud that she showed Papi as soon as he got home… oh well, I guess that is what I get for trying to do my projects early so I can share with you! At least the gift I am buying will remain a secret!

When it comes to shopping for my Hubby, I run into two problems:

These grocery sack paper bag books can really be used for anything! When you make them they have all of these cute little pockets so the kids can add their treasures too. First, a DIY on how to make one of these bag books! Then I will share how we turned ours into a great homemade gift for dad!

What you need for your Recycled Grocery Sack Craft:

• A brown paper sack (just your standard grocery brown bag)
• Scissors
• Stapler
• Hole punch
• String, hemp, yarn, anything to bind it.
• Glue stick
• 2 pieces of paper.

How to make your Grocery Sack Book:

Fold to crease the bag, then cut the bag in half. Next, fold both parts of the bag in half. Leave a little hanging over on the open (top) end of the bag. This part you will fold over and staple. The stapled pages will go in the middle of your book. Make sure all of the openings are on the top of the book. Punch holes in the binding area.

Then using your string loop through and tie. Make sure to crease just past the binding a few times. You’re Done!

Today we created a fun gift for dad (a.k.a in our home as Popi)

A standard piece of paper can be cut into quarters to add on your pages. I simply sat and had a conversation with V about her Popi. I asked her questions and she gave me all of the content. She colored the pages and then we glued them down. (with a glue stick)

This was my FAVORITE page…. kids say the darndest things right… She looked around the house for fun things to add to the book. She decided on a photo, some of her “lucky coins”, & more! Last I cut her out some paper hearts to color and add to the pouches. She was so proud that she already gave this recycled grocery sack craft to him… I guess we will be making something else for Father’s Day. I’m OK with that!
