Last day of school activities
These activities are a fun way to celebrate the last day of school.
Create a memory book
Whether it’s a digital memory book or something that the kids cut and paste together. Having a book for all the kids to enjoy is a great way to remember the year.
Added bonus? Have the kids sign and leave personal messages to each other.
Red Carpet
Let your kids walk the red carpet and take pictures. (real or imaginary depending on your school’s policies) Have the kids cheer on their classmates.
Student Awards
Talent Show
Your students are very talented kiddos. Let them show off their skills in a fun talent show.
Maybe they are great at dancing. Or they have a magic trick they want to show off. Even a wonderful piece of artwork is worth sharing.
Scavenger Hunt
Explore your classroom, school, or even the parking lot with an end-of-year scavenger hunt. Find your school’s mascot, your principal, or the school’s copy machine.
Pajama Day
My kid’s favorite school days are pajama days. Let them bring their favorite stuffy/toy and watch a movie together. So simple, yet always a class favorite.
Visit the next grade’s classroom
Your kids are going up a grade level. Which may come with some nerves and questions. Help get them started on the right foot with this activity. Coordinate with other teachers to let the kids explore where they will be next year!
Write letters to next year’s students
Let your kids tell future students what to expect in your classroom.
Distance learning alternatives
Almost everything on this list can be converted to a virtual option.
A slide show, a digital memory book, or an online scavenger hunt are all great alternative ideas for an end-of-year party.
Set up a special Zoom call for kids to talk about their summer bucket lists, favorite memories, and decide what they are going to do that doesn't involve a computer screen.
Class party snack ideas
Ice Cream
Always a favorite. Bring a couple of flavors and let your kids create the perfect Sunday. Or just bring ice cream bars.
Rainbow snacks
