For the most part, pigs are an easy craft for young children. Grab anything pink and add a curly tail and you are already halfway there!

You can’t make a cute piggy craft without the right supplies. And while a lot of these crafts can be made with pink paper, you may need some other supplies.

Paper Pig Craft

2019 was the year of the pig, so we created this fun pig paper craft for kids to make. But that’s not the only time you can make these simple crafts.

Animal crafts that have a 3D effect are fun for kids to make. With simple techniques, even preschoolers can make a craft that pops off the page.

This piggy craft uses important skills. It incorporates skills like basic shapes, scissor skills, and fine motor skills.

As a bonus, this classroom activity uses simple craft supplies, like construction paper.

What to do with this easy pig papercraft

Decorate your classroom or playroom.
Make them during a farm birthday party or a Peppa Pig party
Create them at your local library to go with some fun animal books.
Add this craft to a classroom farm unit

Crafting Tips

This piggy craft is very simple. But here are some tips to help you along the way.

To speed up this craft, you can cut the paper pieces ahead of time.
Instead of drawing the eyes, try using googly eyes instead.
Play with different sizes. Kids can make a larger mommy pig or smaller piglets.
Try swapping out nose folds for a twisted pink pipe cleaner.

Construction Paper Pig

Break out the pink construction paper to make this adorable farm animal.

Active Time 10 minutes

Total Time 10 minutes

Difficulty Medium

Materials

Construction Paper - Pink, Blue, and Brown
Glue Stick

Tools

Scissors
Grey or Black Marker
Pencil

Instructions

Start by cutting a curved edge on the brown paper. This is to make the mud your pig will be playing in. Glue the brown paper to the bottom of your blue sheet.
On the pink paper, draw and cut out an oval for the body, another oval for the head, two triangle ears, a small oval for the nose, four small ovals for the hooves, and a paper strip for the tail.
Glue the body about halfway up the brown paper. Then glue the head to the top of the body.
Next, attach the pig's ears.
Wrap the tail around a pencil to give it a curl and then set it aside.
Draw a couple of dots to the nose for his nostrils.
Using the leftover pink paper, cut a few strips of paper and accordion fold them. Glue one side of the accordion down to the head. Then add glue to the other side to his snout.
Repeat this with each of his four hooves.
Glue on the curly tail.
Finally, draw on the eyes.
