Well, it happened. Baby V turned 2!! We had an amazing Summertime Celebration on the first day of summer. It was full of flowers, bright colors, and all the classic summer foods. This party was a hit!
~Summertime Celebration Food~
I wanted to cater to my younger crowd. Yes, there were adults at the party too, but it was V’s party and I wanted it to be her favorites. We had watermelon sticks (the best way to cut watermelon ever!!) thank you Pinterest!! We also served up some mini corn on the cobs.
To satisfy all the different taste buds in the room we set up a hot dog bar.
We had fixings for Chicago dogs, chili cheese dogs, or just a classic.
What’s more Summer than lemonade? Nothing so we served it up in a fun interactive fashion. More on this Pick Your Pink Station here.
For dessert, we served up ice cream cone cupcakes.
This recipe from Can You Stay For Dinner, is the BEST homemade frosting ever!! I found it last year and it has become the family recipe. I colored mine naturally by leaving out some turmeric for a few days (to let out the flavor) it made it a fun pale yellow. Perfect for our summer theme.
~Decorating~
My man has a flair for making balloons. He whipped up some colorful ones for decorations.
Kate and I created this fun giant flower for our backdrop for the food table.
We used a few long balloons, 2 paper plates, and an accent napkin.
It turned out great and received a Lot of compliments.
~Summertime Celebration Activities~
The kids Really loved the Summer Selfie Booth. Going back again and again.
Towards the end of the party, we brought all of the kiddos outside to blow bubbles. It is one of V’s favorite things to do outside.
This party was a success. The summertime celebration theme was so easy to fit to her age. With the Summer Selfie Booth, there are plenty of great photos of everyone.
Now we are just counting down the days until Little Miss turns 3… These kiddos need to slow down!
First the Minecraft party, now this amazing party…I’m going to have to come up with something big for Little Miss!
