Name that Spot… Learning Laundry Tricks

So I’m on the go go go… not unusual for me. Cooking, cleaning, caring for the kids, helping with homework, and enjoying every minute. The kids go down and I go in my room, look up in the mirror and lo and behold, a Spot. What was it? I had no idea! When did I get it? I still don’t know. All I knew was it was one of my favorite shirts. I had actually bought it This year. There aren’t too many of those in my closet… Now there is one thing that I’m just lousy at, laundry. Its either in the wash too long, in a basket too long, in piles on a bed or couch somewhere way too long. I don’t know why, but its has always been my nemesis. Maybe it is because no matter how much I do there is an endless supply.

Back to the spot. It was already dry, but I decided I Would get it out!

I did what anyone would do I Googled it. It kind of smelt like food so I read a few different ideas on oil and grease. A lot of them ended in washing on a hot water cycle. Well that wasn’t an option it was already 10 pm, I knew better than starting a load.
So I just went for it.
I covered the spot with baking soda and let it sit for about 30mins…
I read if there is a lot of browning of the baking soda wipe it off and apply again…
Next scrape off the baking soda and get some dish soap on a soft sponge. Lather it up on the spot…
Take a toothbrush and get those suds in there…
Now, this is where I started winging it…
I filled the tub with a quarter cup of white vinegar, then topped off with hot water…
I agitated it with my hands loosening off most of the dish soap…
Then I dumped it and filled it once more… let it sit 10 mins.
Rinsed and laid it flat to dry… It looked very promising!

TaDa!!!!

This is great, thanks for sharing. I definitely have a whole stack of shirts that could definitely use this.

I wonder if this works on red wine on white rugs. I tried everything, but it only transformed the small, red spots to a large, purplish circle. Worth a shot, maybe!

I think the baking soda pulls up the oils... not sure how it would work on wine. I don't think it could hurt though!!
