Unicorn Printables

My daughter is obsessed with unicorns. They decorate her room, dance across her backpack, and are on about 50% of the shirts she owns.

When it comes to activities, if it involves a unicorn it will probably hold her attention for a while. So I started to create some fun unicorn printables for her. I started with a few basic coloring pages. Then I added some fun printable activities. And then I created a 3D unicorn craft template that she loves!

But these printables don’t stop at what I’ve created. We hopped on Etsy to find more magical unicorn fun.

My daughter is obsessed with unicorns. They decorate her room, she dresses up as a unicorn, and any time she sees something unicorn at the store, she wants it.

Unicorn crafts can be a bit challenging because creating a unicorn isn’t always easy. So we came up with this fun and easy printable paper unicorn craft.

My daughter loves it because she can create a fun unicorn and have it look “realistic”. Plus, the 3D effect always wows the kiddos.

Tips for making this printable unicorn craft

For younger children, you can cut strips ahead of time.
Make sure that the strip is secured before curling and attaching the second end. We like to press and count to ten.
One printable pack will have enough strips to create all 3 unicorns.
They can draw around the unicorn to complete their project.
The unicorn template also comes in black and white. So kids can color the unicorns however they want!

How to make a unicorn papercraft

Below is our step by step tutorial for creating this paper unicorn craft. Feel free to print them for easy reference!

Create these fun unicorns with colorful curly tails!

Prep Time 5 minutes

Active Time 10 minutes

Materials

Curly Unicorn Printable Pack

Tools

Paper Cutter or Scissors
Glue Stick

Instructions

Print out your unicorn printable pack.
Cut the rainbow strips.
Place a dab of glue where the tail would come off of the unicorn and attach paper strip, color side up.
Curl the strip a few times and then attach to the paper.
Continue with as many strips as you like!

How to make a unicorn crown with construction paper

Create a fun unicorn crown using construction paper. Your child will love wearing this paper crown while pretending to be a unicorn.

Unicorn Crown

Time goes by but there is one thing my little girl is still in love with… Unicorns. Yours too?

Well, this is a fun little paper craft you can make and then use for dress up. It is sure to bring a smile to your unicorn fan.

It starts with a craft that you can find in our book, Construction Paper Crafts For Kids. We take it to a magical level when we add a unicorn horn and some flowers to create a fun unicorn crown.

Paper Unicorn Crafts Supplies:

Construction Paper. We used all the colors of the rainbow, but whatever your little ones like will do!
Paper Cutter. (you could use scissors)
White Cardstock.
A Gold Pen.
Scissors.
Glue Stick.

How to make a paper unicorn crown

Start by cutting 1″ paper strips, using the shorter length of the construction paper. The amount of strips you need depends on the size of your child’s head.

Fold a strip in half and crease.

Unfold and then bring each end to the middle and fold.

Then fold at the center crease again.

Keep doing this until you have a handful of folded strips.

To assemble your crown, take two strips and attach them by placing the 2 folded ends through another pieces’ loops.

Slide them in to create a 90-degree angle. Then take your next strip and slide it through the loops that went through the first.

This will create a zig-zag. If you created an almost square you have the 3rd piece in backward.

Continue this process until you have a unicorn crown that will fit your child’s head.

The last loop is a bit tricky and the little ones might need some help. Watch the video if you need to see it in motion.

Take the ends of the first strip and slide them out to the side.

Then place them into the loops of the last link.

It will take a little bit of wiggling, but once it is in place the strip will fold back at its original creases and you will have your crown.

Now to make it a unicorn crown. On your piece of cardstock draw out some flowers and a unicorn horn.

Again, refer to the video to see how to draw the horn. OR you could use our Build A Unicorn craft as a template.

Cut out your flowers and place them on your crown using a bit of glue.

Finish it with the horn.

Then you are done! Wear your unicorn horn and go on an adventure!

My daughter is loving this unicorn crown craft. And I’m loving that she gets to play with it once it’s created!
