Pour painting is a fun creative painting method that gives you an amazing and different art piece each time you create. We’ve made this technique easier so that kids and beginners can enjoy the process!
Pour Painting
What is pour painting? In short, pour painting is the art process of pouring acrylic paint, that has been mixed with a thickening agent, over your surface. You can pour over wood, rocks, canvas, or anything else you want to decorate. It’s a very forgiving process art and it’s mesmerizing to watch. Which is why the videos can be found all over the internet.

To use this creative painting technique, you need 2 main ingredients.
Acrylic paint & a thickening agent. You can buy a thickening agent, but when you’re doing art projects with kids, you probably don’t want such an expensive and chemical based art supply. So we’ve come up with an inexpensive and safe alternative.
DIY pouring medium
Our DIY pouring medium is a quick thickening agent and easy to mix up. Plus it contains simple and safe ingredients.
Mix 1 part white craft glue (like Elmer’s) and 1 part water.
That’s it!
