PJ Masks Party Printables

Today I want to share with you the PJ Masks party printables that we created for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party. When it comes to planning parties we are all about the DIY. Not only does it save you money, but it also allows you to get crafty!

We used a free online tool called Canva to create our printables. They were super easy and you could use this tutorial for any party theme!

Printable PJ Masks cupcake toppers

We are always trying to make our cakes clean for our parties… no colors or artificial sugars etc. This year I opted to have a friend bake me some organic cupcakes and a cake. Plain white frosting.

I wanted to decorate them myself. We added a second liner to each cupcake and added a PJ Masks character to each cupcake.

While I cannot give you a printable for these cupcake decorations, I can let you know how to make them yourself.

1. Do a google image search for your characters
2. Go to Canva and select an 8 1/2 x 11 template.
3. Create six images of each character down the piece of paper.
4. Then added a circle around them to make cutting them out easier.

Hot glued them to cake pop sticks and you’re done! The cupcakes have official cupcake toppers!

Printable skewer toppers for the food table!

Carry on your theme to the fruits or cheeses! We had a red fruit, a green fruit, and a blue fruit. I’m sure you can imagine which character went with each fruit!

To make the skewer toppers, use the same file you created for your cupcakes. Just print them out at 50% and they are smaller and perfect for your fruit tray!

Next hot glue the toppers to some skewers. The ones we found had a loop at the end perfect for gluing down the toppers.
I loved that when the kids ate the fruit, they asked for “more Catboys” and “Extra Owlettes“.

Printable PJ Masks party favors

These quick printable bracelets were super easy to whip up and the kids adored them!!

Just like before, I can’t give you a printable, but I can walk you through creating one.

1. Find an image of each of your PJ Masks character symbols.
2. Head over to Canva and create a standard letter size image
3. Place the symbols down the middle of the page. I was able to squeeze 9 symbols down my page.
4. Print the Owlette wings onto red cardstock, the Gekko image onto green cardstock, and the Catboy image onto blue.
5. You can trim them down to the size you want. The full size is about right for an adult.

You can add sticky back velcro. Cut them into strips and apply to your bracelets. Make sure to do the rough side on the top.

This way if it hangs over it doesn’t scratch their arms.

Pass them out at your party!

We made a bunch of extras so each kid could have multiple bracelets. They worked out great!

Make them for a party or just for your PJ Masks fan at home. Either way, they are quick and easy to make!

These PJ Masks party printables were perfect for the PJ Masks birthday party. My daughter loved every minute of it and the cousins still remember dressing up as Catboy and pretending to be Owelette.

What you need for your PJ Masks party activity:

• Spray Paint. Blue, Red, and Green.
• Something cardboard. (Painted to look like something heavy)
• PJ Masks costumes.
• Night scene wall. (Optional)

How to set up your PJ Masks party activity:

Fun With Cardboard

Find a larger cardboard box. Carefully take it apart and put it back together inside out. This makes it easier to paint. You want to paint it as something “heavy” for Gekko to move using his “Super Gekko Muscles!” I turned mine into their headquarters, but you could just as easily paint a giant boulder or rock… Here are a few pictures of how I made the HQ.I turned a tall box inside out. After that, I added slits to the top and bottom to help give it shape. Once I liked the shape I glued it back together using hot glue. Clothes pins are perfect for holding it together until dry. Using tempera paint I created the characters from an image I found online. I added wings and ears from scrap pieces of cardboard I had around the house. I did use a pipe cleaner as well as glue to attach the wings to make them a bit more stable. Then using triangles folded quick ears for the top and attached with more hot glue.

Next, I created a quick night scene. Since they are always fighting crime at night. I wanted to have a good photo-op spot, and this was perfect. I created the night scene by cutting  the top off a huge piece of cardboard to look like the tops of buildings and painting the whole thing black.For the windows, all you need is yellow construction paper. Using different sized squares you can create different buildings in your silhouette. Attach with paint, sticky dots, or glue. You could easily just lean this up against a fence or wall. If you want to take it another step you can place it in front of a bench.We poked holes and secured it in a few different places. This way the kids could get behind the skyline. They loved that.

Creating the Activity

Using your red paint create a fun line that swirls around.Using the green paint create a line that leads to a box a little bigger than your “heavy” object.Last, make a blue line that zig-zags.

Instructions for your PJ Masks party activity:

Add your PJ Masks costumes at the beginning of each section.

If you can, place an adult at each location to help with their costumes and give quick instructions. Remember they are young.

Let the Activity Begin!

First, we start with Owlette. Help them put on their wings and fly using their “Super Owl Wings”, along your swirling line. She will land at the next station where she will change over into her Gekko gear. Next using their “Super Gekko Muscles” they will run-up to the heavy object and move it out of the square. This one was the best. The kiddos would grunt and groan like it was so heavy!
Next, they will swap out for their Catboy costume. When they are ready they can start running the zig-zag lines using their “Super Cat Speed”

When they are done they can pose for a picture. Once everyone went through once we just let them play dress up and enjoy all of the costumes.

This made for some great pictures and of course great memories for all of the kids and adults at the party. Once they completed their mission they picked out their favorite character shirts and bracelets.

Now V is constantly switching her favorite character and the quote “use your super cat speed” comes out all of the time to get her to hustle up. Somewhere I missed the sewing gene in our family. To me sewing equals time. Time isn’t something I always have loads of so I wanted to come up with something anyone could create.

What you need for your no-sew PJ Masks Costumes:

• Red Fabric. Something will a little give to it.
• Heat bonding hem tape.
• Iron.
• Ribbon.
• Blue Fabric. Again something with a little give.
• Blue Felt.
• No-sew glue
• Cardboard.
• Rubber bands.
• Pipe cleaners. (Green)
• Hot glue.
• Elastic.
• Green Felt.
• Clothes Pins
• Fiber filler.
• Scissors or Exacto knife.
• Headbands (Blue and Green)
• Clothes pins.

How to make your no-sew PJ Masks Costumes:

Gekko

Using a standard piece of green felt create a cone-like shape. Secure edges with no sew glue. Set to the side to dry. Cut a couple of slits in the top point and thread through some elastic. Once dry stuff the tail with fiber filling. Then, using green pipe cleaners bend and twist them to create a green Gekko mohawk.

Catboy

Create some simple cat ears by cutting out 2 diamonds and them folding them over a headband. Use your no-sew glue and clip with clothespins until dry. For the tail take a long piece of cardboard and form a skinny tube. Hot glue and hold with rubber bands until dry. Add in a  pipe cleaner out one end to allow you to create a bend.

Thread some elastic out the opposite end long enough to tie around a little one’s waste. Cover the whole tail in blue fabric and glue with your no-sew glue.

Owlette

These no-sew wings for Owlette were by far V’s favorite! Start by measuring the span of your little one. For our kiddos the width of the material was perfect. So I simply folded it in half and cut out a simple wing design.

Using your Exacto knife create a couple of slits about 6″ apart in the center along the top of your wings to thread your red ribbon through.

Using your heat bond hem tape, fold over the top and create a hem the whole length of the wings. The ribbon behind the neck should be inside the hem with the ends coming out through the 2 slits you cut. Secure the hem by ironing it down. Cut two small slits in the tips of the wings. Through the heat bond. Just big enough to get their little thumbs through. If you are making wings for a larger kid you can reinforce the area with more heat bond tape.

These no-sew PJ Masks costumes are fun for everyday play, for a birthday party, or even for Halloween! They played a key role in pulling off this year’s party activity! Make sure to check it out!!

I will start off by saying that these shirts a Not hard to make or time-consuming. Everyone was thrilled to get a shirt, and it really made for some amazing pictures that brought the whole party together! Now I have to give some credit here to A Spotted Pony. This is where Kate originally saw a handprint idea that we used to make Father’s Day shirts last year! {Side note, I highly suggest checking those out! SO COOL and the perfect gift for dad!}

I did make a couple of changes, but our original shirts following their method turned out great too.

What You Need for Your Own Bleach Printed Shirts:

• 100% Cotton Shirts… Any color will do. Different colors create different effects.
• Contact Paper.
• Bleach
• Spray Bottle
• Tape
• Scissors

Making your Kids Party Favors:

I did this for both of my kiddo’s parties this year! We did lightning bolts for J’s party (there is a long sob story on why there is no post on that…). For V’s birthday, we had a PJ Masks theme so we did all three main characters and Night Ninja.

Create a template for your design. Either print something off the internet or draw it out. Using a thicker cardstock will make this a bit easier. Tape your template onto a piece of contact paper, cut out, and repeat as needed. When putting your design on the paper side of the contact paper it will be backward. For these shapes, it did not matter, but if you are doing letters or numbers make sure to lay them the correct way before cutting out your template.

Peel off the back and place your design on the shirt. Make sure to press down all of the edges. This is VERY important so the bleach doesn’t seep under.

Lay your shirt flat on a cardboard box or trash bag… Anything flat that you don’t mind getting bleach on. Fill your spray bottle with bleach. Only spray 2 or 3 times on the mist setting. You can Always spray it more, but it really doesn’t take much! Within seconds you will see it start to change. The full effect won’t take too much longer. I notice that some colors take more and less time.

Leave them to dry for a bit. Check back on them in about 15 minutes. If you are happy with the effect take a paper towel and blot off any drops of bleach on the contact paper. For the Night Ninja shirt, I poked a bunch of holes on a large piece of contact paper. I then rubbed the bleach into the holes once I had sprayed it. Throw your shirts, with the contact paper still on, and wash on a quick cold cycle in the wash. Most of the contact paper will come off in the wash. Make sure to remove any still on the shirts before throwing in the dryer on low heat.

Finished Product!

Then they are done! You have your own personalized kid’s party favors to hand out, and I promise they will love them! You could do these so many ways… and they aren’t just for parties either! We have made a few just for fun around the house! No matter how you use this process, you will love the results!

Well, it happened… My baby turned 3. How? I have no idea!!

I really put off starting anything for her party until about 5 days out. I had ideas, but getting things started was admitting that it was going to happen. She was going to turn 3.

Her theme was going to be a PJ Masks party. Her favorite show. I can’t wait to share what we did. Like I said before it can be put together in only a few days!

PJ Masks Party Decor

I don’t want to call myself cheap, but if I can make something easy and save some money, why not!

Especially for a 3-year-olds party. They aren’t half as critical of your work as you will be.

I created these giant PJ Masks symbols for above our cake table.

We also make our own cupcake toppers and cake decorations.

Add in some red, blue, and green balloons and that is about all you need. The fun activity props were enough to pull it all together!

PJ Masks Party Activity

A great party always has to come with a great activity.

I came up with this idea straight from the show. With large DIY cardboard props and fun PJ Masks costumes, the kids loved this activity.

PJ Masks Party Food

We planned this party in the afternoon, so a little snack and cupcakes were the perfect combo for our little superheroes.

Adding a cupcake topper to each cupcake was the perfect way to add some color!

We also created little PJ Masks skewers with fruit matching each of the characters.

These were really easy to put together and the kids were even asking for them by name! “Can I have more Catboys?” “I need more Owlettes please”

Throwdown a bowl of bite-sized gram crackers and they were all happy!

PJ Masks Party Favors

Now If there is one thing that I have learned is not to wait until the last minute to think of party favors.

When you do, you end up spending way too much on stuff that just gets tossed in the trash, or lost on the way home in the car.

I have done it, we all have.

I have used this party favor a few times now and it is always a hit. These silhouette t-shirts will get worn time and time again.

Match them with these fun bracelets and your party guests will be running around with a big smiles on their faces.

This party will go down in the books as one of my favorites. So many parents were complimenting how much fun their kids were having and how it all came together so well.
