I have been obsessed with clear egg carton crafts for a while. I have used them for crafts like the DIY Bats.

We have used them in activities, like our Master Builder Lego Challenge. They are also perfect for making mini-greenhouses to start plants.

There are a few brands that sell eggs in clear cartons. In my store all of them happen to be organic as well, so that is a win, win, in my book!

My little girl created these flower magnets and was so proud! I love an art project that she can take the lead on.

Supplies for you Egg Carton Flower Magnets:

• Clear Egg Cartons… no, they don’t have to be clear, but I love the way they look!
• Scissors.
• Paint.
• Paint Brush.
• Paint Pallet.
• Tape.
• Corn Cob holder. Or a skewer (something to poke a couple of small holes through the carton)
• Pipe Cleaners. One per flower.
• Buttons. One per flower.
• Magnet with sticky back or hot glue.

Making your Egg Carton Crafts:

Start by cutting your egg carton into thirds. This will give you 3 flowers with 4 petals each.  Trim the edges to make them nice are round.

Then use a little bit of tape to hold them to the table while your toddler paints the insides. Give them colors that will look pretty if fully blended together. A good combo red, purple, white.   A bad combo orange, purple, white. Let the cartons dry. Then use your corn cob holder to, carefully poke 2 holes through the center of your flower. This is seriously the best tool for the job!

Next, have your toddler thread a button on one end of a pipe cleaner. Stick that into the unpainted side of the flower. Then have them put the other side through another buttonhole, then through the second hole in the middle of the flower.
Pull all the way through and twist the stem together to hold. You can bend the leftover stem to add a leaf if you choose! Take and create a circle on the backside using the pipe cleaner. This will give you a flat surface to place your magnet.

These egg carton bats are an adorable way for your little ones to create a Halloween craft. We used clear egg cartons to create a fun spin on a classic craft idea.

Egg Carton Bats

Now that it is officially October, the internet is sure to be flooded with turkeys and even some Christmas trees. I am holding off and throwing up one more Halloween post.

In true Twitchetts fashion, this craft is simple to set up and you should have most of the supplies around the house!

I Love these clear egg cartons. They give these egg carton bats such a cool look when they are finished!

It also makes a great outdoor decoration. We have made these the past couple years with regular egg cartons, but the clear just looks so much better so I have to share!

What you will need for your egg carton Halloween craft:

• Black Paint
• Paint Brush
• Clear Egg Cartons  (There are a few different brands of eggs that come in clear cartons. Both brands I know are organic.)
• String
• Googly Eyes (optional, you could use white paint)
• Scissors
• Tape

Making your DIY Bats:

Start by cutting your egg carton into three egg rows.

Paint the inside of the egg cartons. This might take a few coats to get a solid black coat. Or you can just paint it once extra thick.

Since they are plastic and the paint is inside you can hang them outside in the trees!

Next, add your eyes. This is perhaps the hardest part… Peeling off the backs of googly eyes can be so difficult!! You could just as easily paint them on!

Poke a hole through the top of the middle egg holder.

 Tape string on the inside.

Now find a place to hang your egg carton Bats! You could hang them in a tree or a window.

I decided to create a fun decoration with ours. There is a strobe light in the bottom!  I will be placing this out front on Halloween!
