<h2>Easy forts to make at home</h2>
<p>I love it when my young kiddos can play together independently. I can hear them giggling from the other room and it makes my heart melt.</p>
<p>Their favorite thing to do together is to play in a fort.  But they’re still too young to build a fort themselves, so I’m asked…almost every day…to build a fort.</p>
<p>These easy forts to make can be built in 5 minutes or less.  A couple of them are so easy that Little Miss can help out!</p>

<h3>Don&#8217;t have time to create these easy forts now? Pin it for later!</h3>
<p>If you&#8217;re currently brainstorming ways to keep your kiddos entertained indoors, then pin this to your favorite activity board. That way you&#8217;ll be able to grab all the fort building techniques when you&#8217;re ready!<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-14731 size-full" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/cool-forts-to-build-inside.jpg" alt="If you're stuck inside, you don't want to miss these 3 easy forts to make inside. <h2>Cool forts to build inside</h2>
<p>If you think you know how to build forts you should still check these out! These quick alternative setups might just be an easier go-to method than what you are used to!</p>
<p>Make sure you have a fitted sheet handy. We have a red one that has been designated the &#8220;fort blanket&#8221;. The corners on the fitted sheet make it possible to get a good hold on your designs.</p>
<h2>1. Toddler Bed Fort</h2>
<p>This one is the easiest…but you do have to have a toddler bed to pull it off.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14735" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-2-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Take two corners, on the shorter side of a queen size fitted sheet, and place them over the back corners of the toddler bed.  Pull the blanket forward and place it over the front corners.  Done.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14736" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Toddler-Bed-Fort-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<h2>2. Table Fort</h2>
<p data-slot-rendered-dynamic="true">Kids love sliding around under the table.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-14738 size-full" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p data-slot-rendered-dynamic="true">Push two chairs, that are across from each other, into the table.  Take two corners of your fitted sheet and place them over the corner of your chairs.</p>
<p data-slot-rendered-dynamic="true">If your table is too big for just one sheet, then tuck another sheet under the corners of the fitted sheet.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14739" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-extending-the-blankets-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p data-slot-rendered-dynamic="true">Pull the chairs out from the table as much as the sheet will allow.  The kids love having the chairs as “shelves”.</p>
<p data-slot-rendered-dynamic="true"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14737" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-2-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The bonus to this fort is the inside pocket.  It’s always full of toys when we clean this one up.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14744" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Table-Fort-books-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<h2>3. Covered Wagon Fort</h2>
<p>My kids are still a bit too young to understand this one, but Susie and I used to build these all the time as kids.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14741" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-with-horse2-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p data-slot-rendered-dynamic="true">Place two sets of chairs facing the same way, one set in front of the other.  Drape the sheet over the back of both chairs.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14742" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The front set of chairs become seating for the front of the wagon…The back ones become the actual wagon.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-14740" src="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior.jpg 600w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior-150x150.jpg 150w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior-300x300.jpg 300w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior-500x500.jpg 500w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior-200x200.jpg 200w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior-320x320.jpg 320w, https://twitchetts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Covered-Wagon-Fort-interior-480x480.jpg 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
