I have always been a big fan of snowman decorations! When I was creating the washer ornaments post earlier this week I had an a-ha moment to create these cute Washer Snowman Ornaments and they turned out so cute! They are the perfect addition to all of our fun DIY ornaments! Kate likes to collect angels others collect Santas or even penguins, but Mama K has always been a snowman decoration fan… so I guess that passed down to me. These little ornaments are perfect for using up those random washers at the bottom of that odds and end bucket of unused hardware.
What you need to make your Washer Snowman Ornaments:
- Washers. Choose 2 that compliment each other size wise.
- A combo nut washer. What?! I know… but it was at the bottom of my bucket! You can use a 3rd washer and nut. Play around with sizes to make a hat.
- White yarn.
- Red ribbon.
Making your Washer Snowman Ornaments:

Simply do the smaller washer with a loop and leave the larger one without, then follow the pictures below. String the leftover yarn, from the bigger washer, up through the smaller washer hole and tie off. Try to get them as snug together as possible and trim off the extra yarn.
You can use a dab of glue to hold down the end to the back of your ornament. Next, tie off a little bit of red ribbon to create a scarf. A simple knot and a dab of glue will do.
Then add a little glue to the knot at the top and slide your washer/nut combo down onto the top of your snowman’s head. Let everything dry then hang your washer snowman ornaments up on the tree or wrap up to send to your snowman loving friends!
I can picture myself sitting in front of the TV making a bunch of these cuties. Almost relaxing.
