The Pin Project ~ A Tailwind Walkthrough

Since Month 2 of the Pin Project, I’ve been using Tailwind.  I gave the free trial a shot and ended up paying for it with in a week.

The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind.

After last month’s spike from a viral pin (which has continued to bring us joy through February), we decided to update more of our posts.

Scheduling out pins can be daunting.  Add that to the act of finding other people’s pins, you’re time is going to be eaten away.  And if your time is worth more than $2.30 a week, then you should definately take Tailwind into consideration.  For real.  2.30/week is all it costs, if you purchase a year member ship.  And you’ll be so happy that you did.

So how does it help?  Let me show you.

We updated our Gluten Free Meatballs pin.  It’s a food pin.  I’m have 20+ group boards that I can pin food to.  That would be a lot of time to pin to each one indevidually.  Let alone the amount of time to spread them all out over a period of time.

With Tailwind, I can group all of my Food boards together. The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind.

So when I need to pin any of my food related posts, I just click on the Tailwind icon in the bottom left corner of the picture.  I type the name of my group into the board field and tada!  I’m scheduling to 20+ boards in a matter of second!

I didn’t use this feature at first, but they have recently made some great improvements.  You can select the date and time of your first pin.  Perfect for when you’re scheduling out content that hasn’t published yet.  Select how long of a minimum interval you would like.  I have 1 day selected below.  Last, you can select whether or not you want your new pins to fit nicely into your queue, or use Exactly one day in between posts. The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind.I also use Tailwind to schedule out all of my other pins.  I mentioned previously that I only pin one night a week.  And in order to make the most of this, I use the Tailwind Chrome Extension.

While I’m on Pinterest, I do a quick search. The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind. Then I click the Chrome Extension a the top right of my screen. The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind.

A screen appears that allows me to select several pins at once. The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind. When I hit “Go Schedule” I can choose which boards I want them to go to.The Pin Project - Save time on Pinterest by learning how to schedule pins using a pinning tool called Tailwind.

If they all belong to the same board, I can add them all to one board at the top.  Boom. 7 pins scheduled in less than 3 minutes. Along with all this great time-saving stuff, Tailwind also provides tracking tools to help you out!

So for last month’s numbers…here you go!  Another amazing month!
