Bubble Wrap Art ~ A Bad Day Cure

Bubble Wrap Art is a therapeutic form of crafts for kids.  After a bad day, they can do some bubble wrap painting to cure their bad day.  The results are so cool, you may even want to frame it!Disclosure: Some of the links in this post are “affiliate links.” This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, we will receive an affiliate commission.  Thank you for supporting Twitchetts!

So I picked up J from school the other day and I could see the look in his eyes when he was walking to my car. The look no mom wants to see… You can tell it was a bad day. There is the one kid in his class, you know the one, the super popular one that decides who everyone else likes. Well today he decided that they weren’t going to include J on the playground.  As a mom you wanna stomp right into the school find that kid and teach him a thing or two. Instead, I made a few changes to an art project I had planned for the weekend to relive some of J’s stress.

We do a lot of random arts and crafts at home, but this was amazing!! He has never made something that I wanted to frame as Art Art… not just I Love My Kid Art.  He did this 100% on his own! He felt 100% better when he was done!

Some pointers for Bubble Wrap Painting

Start with decent sized squares of bubble wrap.  You will need 1 square for each color. Fold the bubble wrap in half and secure with staples or tape.  Leave a gap in the middle to insert a small hand. Now pick out some paint.  You can tell his mood based on the paint selection.Have them slide their hand into their bubble wrap ‘mitts’.Spread out some paint and let them go at it!He was really letting this poster board have it!!Layer the colors one after another.
You can go back over with the first colors again if you want. When they are finished just step back and be amazed… Let them know how beautiful this artwork is!!post signaturepost signatureGive J a giant squeeze from Aunt Kate. And tell him how amazing this project is!  I might need him to make one for me!!
